What is Cod Plumbing?
Cod Plumbing is a licensed, insured residential plumbing company serving Greater Boston, Massachusetts. We provide same-day service, 24/7 emergency response, and charge no dispatch fees. Every technician is fully licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Are your plumbers licensed in Massachusetts?
Yes. All Cod Plumbing technicians are fully licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and carry appropriate insurance. We pull permits and schedule inspections when required.
Do you use commission-based salespeople?
No. Our technicians are trained plumbers, not commission-driven salespeople. We diagnose the problem, explain what needs to be done, and give you the price. We do not push upgrades you do not need.
What is the Cod Club membership?
Cod Club is our annual membership program at $99 per year. Members receive priority scheduling, $0 dispatch fees always, 15% off any repair, and a free annual plumbing inspection. Military, veterans, police officers, firefighters, EMS, doctors, nurses, and teachers receive free membership.
Pricing and Fees
How much does a plumber cost in Boston?
Cod Plumbing uses transparent upfront pricing. A technician inspects the issue and gives you a clear price before any work begins. You pay only for the work performed. There is no dispatch fee.
Do you charge a dispatch fee?
No. Cod Plumbing charges $0 dispatch fees, even on weekends and evenings. You only pay for the actual plumbing work we perform.
Do you charge extra for weekend or evening calls?

Do you offer free estimates?
We offer upfront pricing. A technician will inspect the issue and provide a clear price before any work begins. For larger projects like repiping or filtration installation, we provide a written estimate.
Scheduling and Service
How quickly can a plumber come to my home?
Same-day service is available throughout Greater Boston. For emergencies, we prioritize getting a technician to you as fast as possible. Standard appointments use two-hour arrival windows you choose.
What is the Two Hour Appointment Guarantee?
You pick the two-hour window that works for you. We show up on time. If we are late, we knock $50 off for every 30 minutes late, up to $80 off. We respect your time.
Do you offer emergency plumbing service?
Yes. Cod Plumbing answers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When you call 857-426-3836, a real person answers — not an answering service. We dispatch a technician as fast as possible for burst pipes, major leaks, sewage backup, and other emergencies.

Common Plumbing Problems
My basement is flooding. What do I do first?
Shut off the main water supply valve immediately. Do not go near standing water if it is close to electrical outlets or panels. Then call Cod Plumbing at 857-426-3836. Take photos of the damage before cleanup for your insurance claim.
Why is my water pressure low throughout the house?
Low water pressure throughout the whole home is often a sign of aging pipes, a failing pressure regulator, or a partially closed main shutoff valve. It can also indicate a leak somewhere in the system. A licensed plumber can diagnose the cause quickly.
Why does my toilet keep running?
A running toilet is usually caused by a worn flapper, a faulty fill valve, or a problem with the flush valve. Left unchecked, a running toilet can waste hundreds of gallons of water per day. We diagnose and fix it the same day.
Should I replace or repair my water heater?
Water heaters typically last 8 to 12 years. If yours is over 10 years old and showing issues, replacement is often more cost effective than repair. If it is newer and the problem is isolated (a faulty thermostat or heating element), repair usually makes sense. We will tell you honestly.
What are signs I need to repipe my home?
Frequent leaks in different locations, rust-colored or brown water, low pressure throughout the house, and pipes that are more than 50 years old are all strong indicators that repiping may be the most cost-effective long-term solution.
Does Boston have hard water?
Greater Boston is served by MWRA water, which is generally soft and of good quality. However, older pipes and local plumbing can affect taste and quality. A point-of-use filter often addresses these concerns without requiring a full softener system.
